Rules & Guidelines

  • We are accepting submissions through April 3, 2026.

  • You must be at least 18 years old as of June 5, 2026.

  • (4) Cosplay Guest Judges will be selected.

  • We are looking for Cosplay Guest Judges with both experience in building cosplays and participating as a contestant in aMasquerade. Ideally, in both Craftsmanship and Performance categories.

  • RIAC is a family-friendly convention and as a Cosplay Guest Judge, your cosplays should be family-friendly.

  • You will receive a confirmation after submitting your application. If you do not, please reach out to Cosplay@alteredrealityentertainment.com

  • You will be contacted regarding your application status by April 30, 2026.

Expectations

  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner. As a Cosplay Guest Judge, you are representing RIAC 2026.

  • Be in cosplay during convention hours; including but not limited to the Masquerade. Convention hours are 9 am - 7 pm EST on Saturday, June 6, 2026, and 9 am - 5 pm EST on Sunday, June 7, 2026.

  • Use your table to promote your own cosplay, and any products being sold at your table should be items pertaining to your cosplay.

  • Engage attendees while at your table.

  • Promotions of other events and/or conventions is not allowed.

  • Cosplays worn and any products sold should be family friendly.

  • Have someone at your table in cosplay at all times during convention hours.

  • Display a cosplay made by you on the mannequin near your table during convention hours.

  • Set up your table and mannequin on Friday evening, June 5, 2026 and/or by 8:30 am EST on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

  • Pre-judge the Craftsmanship category for the Masquerade. Saturday, June 6, 2026. Time TBD. 3-hour commitment.

  • Judge the Masquerade. Saturday, June 6, 2026. Time TBD. 3-hour commitment.

  • Promote your selection as a Cosplay Guest Judge and RIAC 2026 on your social media channels.

  • Participate in the Masquerade Cosplay Guest Judge Feedback Panel on Sunday, June 7, 2026. Time TBD. 1-hour commitment.

 

Compensation

  • (2) all-weekend passes.

  • A cosplay guest table with accompanying space and mannequin for cosplay display.

  • A hotel room in the hotel adjacent to the convention for 2 nights (Friday, June 5, 2026 and Saturday, June 7, 2026). You will share a room with another Cosplay Guest Judge and have your own bed.

  • Promotion via the RIAC website and social media channels.​​
